The 2 Minute-Interview

We met Vittoria Salabelle at the last Berlin fashion Film Festivals that we organised in June. Well ok, actually we just met her hands. And words. Well ok, not her actual hands, to be precise, but ones that were cut out, arranged and glued into beautiful collages by her. Vicky Salabelle is an artist. With her whole heart and soul. Born in beautiful Naples, she now lives in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. She describes her own style as „image-making moved by nostalgia“. Hands a expressive shapers of creative thoughts are her preferred object, her collages make something like an own personality out of them, one that talks to the beholder, touch him and ultimately move him. We just had to acquire one of her wonderful works, which she made especially for us.

Hand-made, poetic, aesthetic.

Do you need peace and quiet to be creative or do you work better under pressure?
In the beginning I surely need time and freedom to develop ideas, but at the end I need the pressure of a deadline
– to get it done. ;)

My second first day of high school.

Get out of your comfort zone!

Isolation through social media and technology.

Smiling as much as I can. :)

What would you cook for us if we came to visit you at home?
Parmigiana di melanzane, a typical Neapolitan dish made of several layers of fried aubergine, parmesan, mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce.

What are you afraid of?
Snakes.

The ability to manipulate time.

That I still in love with film characters.
