Do not disturb

Iggy Pop, Dave Gahan, Snoop Dogg, U2, Farin Urlaub and the other two doctors, sorry, Ärzte and many more famous profiles all have one thing in common. They have all stood in front of a camera lens held by Olaf Heine, major league portraitist and Kreuzberger by choice. His photographs don’t just happen spontaneously and by chance – Olaf sets the scene and isn’t afraid of tying up a world famous musician and letting him sink to the bottom of a pool. As has happened to a certain Eliot Sumner, aka Sting. Some of the most style-defining photographs of the individual artists were created that way. Olaf Heine doesn’t just document the status quo of the celebrity-model’s image, but adds to it, shapes and renews it. The famous shot of a sweating Iggy Pop has become something like a cultural asset, you can’t really imagine Iggy without it. Tonight, the photographer will be joined by friends, acquaintances, companions and illustrious musical guests in opening his new exhibition DO NOT DISTURB in the nhow-hotel Berlin. Invited guests enter at 7 p.m. and the doors open to everyone else at 9 p.m. – just in time for the entertainment. On display are 45 photographs from Heine’s successful books „Leaving The Comfort Zone“, „I Love You but I’ve Chosen Rock“ and „Brazil“. Live beats and sounds will be provided by RAZZ, Lion Head and Menage A Trios, our favourite dynamic DJ-duo Fra Diavolo, aka Arnim and Torsten from the Beatsteaks, are serving up their specialty: feet sore from dancing. The exhibition officially opens tomorrow and can be visited until September 11th.
