The Great Journey

An endless sea of lights spreads before our eyes, like stars fallen from heaven. More than 3000 candles and 300 suitcases will transform Tempelhofer Feld into a glowing maze. On “The Great Journey”, a production by Theater Anu, visitors will seek their individual path through a spectacular scenery to the labyrinth’s core and encounter spellbinding mythical creatures telling stories about hopes and dreams – a truly magical setting of images, sound and movement. At nightfall, a jester will open the door to another world: The Bird Woman dreams of flying. She perseveres despite numerous falls. The Lamp Dreamer shows what it looks like in the foreign land using magical reflective images. The Prince does not want to wear his crown and in the Luggage Tower every step forward is held back by memories. The World Chamber guards the talents of this world and among the visitors the Mirror Woman searches for the star that looks straight at her heart. A new journey begins every half hour (estimated duration approx. 75 minutes). All characters tell and perform their stories continuously for three hours in total. Theater Anu, the producer of the on-going success Ovid’s’ Dream, once again creates a poetic performance site, a quiet spectacle that evokes the journey of life, the search for meaning and happiness. We’re giving away a pair of tickets for a night of your choice. Just send an email titled LET THERE BE LIGHT to hurra@muxmaeuschenwild.de. Wish upon a star!
