I want to ride it where I like
OK, we might not be die-hard freaks who fearlessly ride their beloved bikes no matter what the weather. But when the first delicate rays of sunshine soften the citie’s hard concrete and the icy winds turn into soft breezes, there’s no stopping us! And besides, fresh air lifts our spirits and gives a rosy complexion. From next Monday till March 20, the Berlin Bicycle Week is celebrating the two-wheeled steed and the people who love it. The programme features the Berliner Fahrradschau, a screening of „Rising from the Ashes“ – a documentary about how Jock Boyer helped establish a national Rwandan bicycle team –, a new BreakMX Guinness world record (yup, a cross between breakdance and BMX) where Chris Böhm will attempt to achieve 30 bike head spins in 30 seconds keeping his bike between his legs (a must-see!!) and the velo x Berlin Bicycle Week launch party which was organised in cooperation with our favourite people from Gestalten. They’re celebrating the release of the new book Velo 3rd Gear. What would be more appropriate than putting one and one together and presenting great stories about great rides and their great owners in great photographs? Exactly, nothing. And that’s why we’re going to participate in this sportive celebration, too. When? On Monday, March 14 from 5 to10.30 pm. Where? At the Gestalten Space in the Sophie-Gips-Höfe in Mitte. It goes without saying that we’ll be riding there by bike… And to top it all off, we’re giving away two copies of Velo 3rd Gear straight off the press. Send an email titled ‚BIKE IT!‘ to email@example.com.
