Welcome to the moon

We love The National. If you’ve ever had the chance to see the Brooklyn based Indie band play live you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about (their gig in the courtyard of the Michelberger Hotel in Friedrichshain was something else!). Perhaps a little bulky and not everyone’s cuppa at first, but the more you surrender yourself to the soothing rush of guitars and vocals the more essential it will become for the rest of your life. Too dramatic? Well maybe, but it’s the damn truth! The sound of Matt Berninger’s voice is like a warm blanket that wraps itself around you. It’s filled with love and courage, gives comfort and lifts your sprits – it simply makes you feel good. So we’re thrilled that Matt has teamed up with former Menomena member Brent Knopf for a side project called EL VY (spoken like the plural form of Elvis) to record an album and to go on tour together. ‚Return to the Moon‘ is an absolutely brilliant album created by two truly sophisticated indie minds – varied, intelligent, easy to listen to and yet disturbingly warped. Even without the musical backing of The National Matt’s voice sends us into complete and utter bliss! For all we care, he could be singing patient information leaflets or a list of cleaning product ingredients or to us and we’d still be hanging on to his every word. On St Nicholas Sunday, they’ll be heating things up at Berlin’s Astra. So if you’re ready for a musical awakening and keen on seeing us in perfect rapture with a goofy grin plastered on our face, book your ticket here or send an email titled ‚SILENT IVY HOTEL‘ to hurra@muxmaeuschenwild.de. We’re giving away a pair of guest list tickets for the gig.
