Don’t shed this winter coat

Our little four-legged friends can be rather sensitive to cold weather. We see them shaking, shivering and freezing on the S-Bahn or on frosty winter streets. If they’re lucky, their caring owners will provide them with something to keep them warm. And if they’re really lucky – and master or mistress has a sense of style – they might just get a pretty little piece made by happystaffy. The small Berlin-based label was born out of necessity: When company founder Aleksandra Bettin adopted troubled Staffordshire-Lady Chica from the animal shelter nine years ago, she was dissatisfied with the quality and fitting of available doggy-wear. Her biggest unanswered question remained: Where can we get stylish and high-quality clothes for larger breeds? She came up with the answer herself: happystaffy manufactures custom-tailored (!) winter jackets for Wolfhounds, bomber jackets for Boxers, trench coats for Terriers and – our fashion-favourite – the lumberjack jacket for the rough and tough canine family members. The collection was designed by the skilled hands of Anna Boettke (we recently had the chance to benefit from her qualities when she supported as a stylist at a major shooting). And here, some first-paw feedback: Bulldog Simon is a happy camper – when he comes to visit us, he loves whizzing around our office in his swish cardigan.
