Joseph meets DJane
Throw that art out the window – we want to dance! This Friday, arty meets party at the Pinakothek in Munich. Starting at 8 p.m., the rotunda in the centre of the museum turns into a dancefloor. Young art guides will be partying as well and will be there to answer questions on content and meaning until midnight. Munich based Djs such as Baal, Liza, Glaskin + Essika will make for a clubby atmosphere with electronic beats. Video artist Betty Mü will be performing live at the rotunda and the conservatory will be used as a lounge area where current exhibition content will be displayed on the wall. Photo booths, cool drinks and all sorts of bizarre stuff will keep you entertained. Our highlight of the evening is the Board Trade: artists auctioning handpainted skateboard decks. However, money can’t buy these art objects – the bidders have to pay with personal engagement and creativity. Services and home-made products can be put up as bids. For example cooking together, barhopping through the city’s best clubs or a climbing tour in the Alps. The artists themselves decide which bid wins. Tickets are all sold out, but there will be extra tickets sold at the box office. For every leaving visitor, someone new can step in – so don’t miss all the fun! And remember, it’s all about the art.
